The 14th-ranked Fort Hays State men's soccer team suffered its first setback of the fall Friday in a 4-2 loss to University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
The Tigers trailed 1-0 after the first 45 minutes and fell behind 3-0 in the 57th minute.
FHSU got on the board in the 63rd minute when Maurizio Costa tallied his fourth goal on the season. Mauricio Castorino beat the Mountain Lions' goalie less than two minutes later a brought the Tigers within a goal.
With FHSU searching for an equalizer, UCCS put the game out of reach with a goal in the 72nd minute from Antonio Roble.
FHSU was outshot 20-6 in the match. Tigers' goalkeeper Michael Yantz allowed four goals and made seven saves on the day.
The Tigers return to action on Sunday when they will face 12th-ranked CSU-Pueblo.
