Christ's role

There is a story told of an old man building a bridge across a deep chasm. A young man happened to pass by and asked the old man, "Why do you build a bridge when you are never going to pass this way again?"

The old man said, "Others will come this way, and they can pass safely to the other shore."

Jesus, the Son of God, came as a babe in a manger at Christmas. The question can be asked, "Why are you coming into a troubled world, full of wars, pain and death?"

Jesus came to bring salvation and hope to all people, men, women and children, so we might cross over at the bridge He created by His shed blood on the cross. Having a relationship with Jesus will allow you to cross the bridge into heaven.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation." 2 Corinthians 5:17a (NIV).
