The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office continues to seek the help of the public for an accident that resulted in the death of a former La Crosse man May 15.
Dylan Weiser, 22, Thornton, Colo., was struck and killed by a “hit-and-run” vehicle between the hours of 9:45 and 10:15 p.m. May 15 approximately a half mile north of Antonino Road on 240th Avenue, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
Investigating officers believe Weiser was let out of a vehicle on 240th Avenue at approximately 8:40 p.m. and began walking south. He was seen by two motorists while walking.
His body later was discovered at 10:15 p.m. in the west ditch in the 700 block of 240th Avenue.
Assessment of the scene indicates Weiser was walking south along the west ditch when struck by a vehicle. Broken automotive debris was present at the scene. A specific make or model of the vehicle has not been determined, and it is unknown who was driving the suspected vehicle.
