Guess what, our little bundle has arrived.

Hurray, it is a boy. Austin Daniel was born Oct. 30, filling our hearts with joy. He weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and is 18.5 inches long.

He was born at home and, yes, everything turned out fine. Who but God could design something as wonderful as a newborn baby?

You guessed it, our 3-year-old daughter Julia is totally delighted to be a big sister to a baby brother. She was excited to show Austin her dolls and toys.

It is exciting to be a new daddy to a little son. I can hardly wait for him to be old enough to go make furniture with me. Our shop is a two-man operation as of now. So it will be easy to take him to work with me at a young age. He will probably end up putting me to work and have me take care of him. Ha.

I really enjoy making furniture especially when taking a rough piece of lumber and making something beautiful. We make distressed and log furniture.

Back to our tiny baby, I really enjoyed being home more the last week, taking care of my family.

Austin is a week old now and seems to be a content baby. We really enjoy watching his expressions. He can make the cutest faces. Julia was delighted to have him giggle when she tickled his cheek. You will have an update next week on how Austin Daniel is doing.

Today I will share a recipe for next time I would like to make a special treat for my wife.

I make it for Gloria's birthday every year. She is delighted every time. Gloria's birthday is coming up next week which is Nov. 12, so I will be making it again soon.

If any readers would like to send Gloria a card, she'd love hearing from you at 10568 E. 350th Ave., Flat Rock, IL 62427.
