FHSU wrestling competes Saturday in Nebraska

KEARNEY, Neb. -- The Fort Hays State University wrestling team had one champ and one runner-up Saturday at the University of Nebraska-Kearney Holiday Inn Open.

Trey Page won the elite division at 285 pounds, while Jon Inman suffered his first loss of the season at 184 pound title match in the elite division.

The Tigers had eight wrestlers finish in the top six in either the elite or amateur division.

Adam Ludwin was fourth at elite 124, Anthony Calderon sixth at amateur 133, Bryce Lewis fourth at 165 elite, Josh Rodriguez sixth at 174 elite, Nathan Shipley sixth at 174 amateur and Ethan Dale sixth at 184 amateur.

The Tigers had nine wins by fall, going 56-46 between 23 competitors.

FHSU is off for the holiday break, and will return to action at home Dec. 5 against the University of Central Oklahoma in a 7 p.m. MIAA dual at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
