Elizabeth “Betty” Eaton Shipley, 93, Oakley, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at her home.

She was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Trego County to Joe and Regina (Ritmayer) Flax.

She married Moses H. Eaton on April 15, 1941, in Grinnell. He preceded her in death. She later married Gerald H. Shipley on Aug. 10, 1996, in Oakley. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include three sons, Gene Eaton and wife, Jean Kay, Des Moines, Iowa, Skip Eaton and wife, Mary, Sarasota, Fla., and Marc Eaton and wife, Jan, Kingston Springs, Tenn.; three stepdaughters, Carrol Baker and husband, Don, Towanda, Linda Schafer and Stan Anderson, Lincoln, and Charla Shipley, El Dorado; a sister, Minnie Rufenacht, Ness City; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and extended family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, John, Carl, Frank, Steven and William Flax; four sisters, Frances Aschenbrenner, Rosie Stieben, Pauline Smith and Helen Creese; and four infant sisters, Mary, Regina, Clara and Ludvina Flax.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley.

A rosary/wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice Services or St. Joseph School Lunch Program in care of the funeral home.
