Both of the Fort Hays State cross country team finished sixth at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. Saturday.
A number of NCAAA Division I schools competed in the meet.
Cory Keehn led the way for the men, finishing .8 seconds behind the fifth-place runner in 25:02.2. Troy Wineinger placed 30th at 26:30.6.
Jacob Thomas (26:52.2), Seth Parres (26:56.4), and Jonny Bernasky (27:05.8) rounded out the team score.
On the women’s side, Micki Krzesinski led the Tigers with a 29th-place finish. The junior traversed the 6K course in 22:54.9.
Chelsea Jackson was second on the FHSU team, crossing in 23:20. Sophie Dalmasso and Shea Bonine also finished in the top 40 for the Tigers with times of 23:34.4 and 24:01.6, respectively. Yessenia Gonzales completed the team score, finishing 42nd with the time of 24:42.1.
Next, the Tigers will be home for The FHSU Tiger Open at Sand Plum Nature Trail on Oct. 10.
