Ottilia “Tillie” Leiker, 95, Catharine, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at Ellis Good Samaritan Center.

She was born Jan. 12, 1920, in Catharine to Charles and Rosa (Koerner) Staab.

She married Alfred J. “A.J.” Leiker on Sept. 6, 1938, in Antonino. He preceded her in death April 27, 2001. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the St. Catherine Catholic Church and the Altar Society/Christian Mothers.

She enjoyed to cook, make noodles, canning, sewing, and crocheting.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Crane and husband, Robert, Shawnee; a son, Alfred Leiker, Jr., Catharine, a son, Derald Leiker and wife, Carol, Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter, Patricia Vandenberg and husband, Harold, Ellis; four sisters, Josepha Dreiling, Grand Junction, Colo., Rose Doerfler, Morris, Ill., Geraldine Dreiling, Denver, and Mary Louise Staab, Hays; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Rudy, Alfred, Edward, and Charlie Staab; and two sisters, Freda Dinges and Flora Doerfler.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, 1681 St. Joseph Street, Catharine; burial in St. Catherine Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine Hays, KS 67601.

An Altar Society/Christian Mothers rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., both at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Catherine Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
