Lucy Mildred (Schippers) Baier, age 85, of Hays passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. She was born February 20, 1936, in Victoria, Kansas, to John M. and Anna C. (Kippes) Schippers. She attended Victoria Grade School and was a 1954 graduate of Victoria High School.
Sister Mary Louise Pfannenstiel, CSA, formerly known as Sister Theodore, died unexpectedly and peacefully February 1, 2022, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, WI.
Dorothy (“Dot”) Casto Cody died in Lakewood, Colorado on February 4, 2022 at the age of 92. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 61 years, John Joseph Cody. She is survived by her three children, Loren Shaiken (Mark), of Denver, Colorado, Andrea Russell of Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Graham Cody (Renee Lauber), of Madison, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Zachary Shaiken, Ethan Russell, and Rowan Cody. Dot was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, on April 14, 1929. Her parents were Allen Thurman Casto, a plumber, and Gertrude Wright Casto, who was a teacher before her marriage. The Castos had a son, Allen Thurman Casto, Jr. who died soon after birth in 1924. Dot had no other siblings.
