Randall, Bevis Both Finalists for MIAA Ken B. Jones Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Alec Bevis (men's soccer) and Whitney Randall (women's basketball) of Fort Hays State University were selected as finalists for the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association's Ken B. Jones Award, presented by Summit Pointe Financial Group, announced Tuesday (May 24) by the league office. The annual award recognizes the conference's male and female student-athletes of the year.

Women 15th, Men 25th Heading into Outdoor Championships

NEW ORLEANS - Both Fort Hays State track and field teams head to Allendale, Mich. for the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships ranked in the final release of the UST-FCCCA National Rating Index, released Monday (May 23) by the coaches organization. The Tiger women now rank 15th in the country, while the men head to the national meet ranked 25th in the country.

California couple donates $25 million to ‘think-outside-the-building’ McPherson College

A California couple contributed $25 million to McPherson College in what officials said was the largest gift to a small, private liberal arts college in Kansas history. Melanie and Richard Lundquist, signers of the “Giving Pledge” promise to dedicate a majority of their wealth to charitable causes, announced the donation Sunday at the central Kansas college’s commencement.

Memorial Day Observance hosted by American Legion

Monday morning will commence the 2022 Memorial Day Observance Ceremony. The service will feature music by Trilogy, a flag raising by the Marine Corps League, laying of the memorial wreath by the American Legion Auxiliary, Roll Call, read by members of various military organizations, a tribute to Memorial day by 1Sgt (Ret) Jessica Brooks, & concluding with a Rifle Salute & Taps.
