Tigers Settle for First Draw of Season with Rockhurst
Fort Hays State played to a 1-1 draw with Rockhurst on Thursday (Sept. 1). Each team netted a goal in the first half nearly a minute apart, but neither could cash in opportunities in the second half. The No. 7 ranked Tigers moved to 1-1-1 on the year and the Hawks picked up their second straight tie, now 0-0-2.
Women Victorious, Men Second in Cross Country Season Debut
The Fort Hays State women’s cross country team came away victorious at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic Thursday evening (Sept. 1), with Gretchen Kuffel winning the race by nearly 20 seconds. The men’s squad, meanwhile, placed second out of 15 teams after placing five runners in the top 15.
Janice D. Reeder (Poague)
Janice Reeder was born in WaKeeney, Kansas in November 1933, to Monte and Inez Poague, who would later become the most cherished and loving grandparents ever. The youngest of four, Jan delighted in pranking and teasing her older siblings who, no doubt, paved the way in the high-jinks department. That sense of humor and fun-loving spirit stayed with her to the end. She passed away in her sleep, August 28, 2022, in WaKeeney.

Judith Kathlene “Judy” Windholz, 78, of Salina, Kan., passed away Monday, August 29, 2022. She was born June 15, 1944, in Topeka, Kan., to Raymond and Martina (Boos) Walters. She married Ernest Windholz on June 16, 1962, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, Kan.

Leona JoAnn Boggs, 89, Hays, died Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at HaysMed, surrounded by family. She was born May 12, 1933 in Norton County, Kansas, the daughter of William Henry and Nancy (Spencer) Roe.
