Heart of a Tiger: Meet Ayanna Hensley

Simply put, I created this column so that I could write stories about remarkable people like the reigning Miss Kansas, Ayanna Hensley. Life for Ayanna was a challenge from the start. She grew up in Dodge City, the child of two parents who a with substance abuse and related criminal activity. She never knew what would happen when she got up each day or what awaited her after the school day.

Fact vs. Fiction

As it was pointed out in the Fiction vs Fact letter published in Hays Post, September 30, 2022, my democratic opponent continues to believe that if he states his opinion enough times that people will somehow believe it is fact. But the voters of Ellis County are smarter than that.

Domestic Disturbance/Barricaded

On October 12, 2022, at 5:29 p.m. the Hays Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance at 332 West 8th Street in Hays. The caller reported that they were able to hear yelling and a physical disturbance in the basement apartment at that address. Officers from the Hays Police Department responded to the domestic disturbance.
