As the weather starts to cool down there’s a whole host of critters out there looking for places that might better improve their chances of surviving the winter. These rascals have no qualms about trying to find food and shelter in your house, basement, attic, garage or any available out buildings that there might be. The thing to keep in mind is that you will not keep them all out no matter what you do. But there are a series of steps you can take to reduce the number that do get in!

Lopers pull away from Tigers, win 38-20

Fort Hays State saw its nine-game win streak against Nebraska-Kearney snapped on Saturday night (Oct. 1), falling by a score of 38-20. The No. 23/19 ranked Lopers took advantage of a few Tiger mistakes in the second half, running away with what was a tight football game until late in the third quarter. UNK moved to 4-1, while FHSU dropped to 1-4.

50th Annual Oktoberfest in Hays October 7-8 Hays, Kan. — Members of the Hays Volga German Society, organizers of the Hays Oktoberfest, would like to invite the community to come out and enjoy the 50th Annual Volga German Oktoberfest on Friday, October 7th from 10:00AM to 7:00PM, and Saturday, October 8th beginning after the Fort Hays State University Homecoming Parade til 6:00PM, in Municipal Park.

Volleyball bested by No. 10 Bearcats

The Fort Hays State volleyball team fell in straight sets Saturday afternoon (Oct. 1) against Northwest Missouri State, 14-25, 1025, 21-25. The Tigers (6-10, 1-7 MIAA) led early in the first set and for much of the third set, but the Bearcats (12-4, 6-2) used an efficient offensive attack to take the match in three sets.
