Jane Rae Pfannenstiel, 87, Hays, left this world to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, with her loving family at her side on Friday, October 21, 2022 She was born January 9, 1935 in Damar, the daughter of Emile and Evelyn (Newell) Tremblay. Upon graduation, she moved to Hays, where she would meet her future husband, Marvin Francis Pfannenstiel. They would celebrate their love for each other in the Catholic Church and in front of their families as they united in marriage on October 22, 1955. Before Marvin’s passing in 2019, they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. In their marriage, five children were born: Cindy, Carmen, Danny, Lisa, and Tim.

Brasser Charges to Individual Title at the Tulsa Cup, Team Finishes 14th

Morgan Brasser claimed her second individual title of this fall season by charging up the leaderboard in the second round at the Tulsa Cup, held at par-72 Forest Ridge Golf Club. Brasser fired a 1-under par round of 71, coming from seven shots back of the lead at the start of round two to claim the tournament by one stroke. She finished at 5-over par overall, a total of 149.

Kansans Can Star Recognitions Program recognizes district success

During Monday’s Board of Education meeting, USD489 was honored by the Kansans Can Star Recognitions Program, earning copper, bronze and silver level achievements. The Kansas Department of Education implements the Kansans Can Star Recognition Program in order to support the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation model process by providing recognition that highlights areas of improvement.
