For the second straight season, Maize ended the season for the Hays High football team. Last year, it was in the playoff quarterfinals.
At 10:18 am, the Hays Fire Department was dispatched to 416 W. 4th Street for a reported structure fire. Fire crews arrived on scene 10:21 hrs. Upon entering the structure, fire crews found a light haze of smoke and searched for the cause of the smoke.

Fort Hays State held on for a 68-66 win over MSU Denver on Sunday (Nov. 20) at Gross Memorial Coliseum. The Tigers had a 10-point lead with eight minutes remaining in the game, but had to hold off a late charge from the Roadrunners to move to 3-1 on the season. MSU Denver fell to 2-2.
A balanced offensive attack pushed 3rdranked Fort Hays State women’s basketball past Colorado Mesa Saturday afternoon (Nov. 19) inside Gross Memorial Coliseum, 75-50. The Mavericks (0-4) jumped out to an early six-point lead before the Tigers (33) got into a rhythm on offense, hitting 41.4 percent from the floor (24of-58) and burying nine 3-pointers while forcing 19 turnovers on the defensive end.
The Fort Hays State wrestling team competed in the Younes Hospitality Open on Saturday (Nov. 19). The Tigers had three placers including an individual championship from 11th-ranked Tereus Henry at 197 pounds.
