TMP boys find roles at Shoot-Out

With opponents likely to focus on stopping senior forward Dylan Werth, it’s important for other players to lend a helping hand for the Thomas More Prep-Marian boys’ basketball team. Werth scored in double figures in all three games and had a pair of double-doubles for the Monarchsovertheweekend at the 40th Gerald Mitchell Hays City Shoot-Out.

FHSU alumnus Glenn Tucker gives back to rural biology students

Growing up in a rural community, 1970 Fort Hays State University alumnus Dr. Glenn Tucker recognized the importance of lending a hand. From the small rural Kansas township of Ogallah, with a current population of 83, Tucker understood the challenges young adults from small communities face when considering their futures. Before passing, Tucker included FHSU in his estate plan to assist future generations of biology students from rural Kansas.

Remembering Pearl Harbor, My memories of contributing to the war effort as a boy in Hays

On December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Naval Forces of the Imperial Japan. A Day that President Roosevelt called a day of infamy. It was an unmitigated sneak attack on the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor. An attack on a beautiful Sunday morning before most there were just awakening. Memories have faded and most of the people alive at that time have passed on --- but it is still a Day of Infamy!
