Ten from Track and Field/Cross Country Named CSC Academic All-District for 2023-24
Fort Hays State had the maximum number of student-athletes allowed for selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team for 2024 on Tuesday (June 18). The Tigers had five women and five men selected, the maximum allowed for each gender per school. This award honors a combination of academic and athletic accomplishments of the individuals selected.
USD489 BOE Officer Elections July 15
At the June 17, USD489 Board of Education (BOE) meeting, the BOE’s 2024-2025 Meeting Calendar was approved following discussion. Following the Meeting Calendar’s adoption, BOE President Ken Brooks announced that officer elections will take at July 17, 2024 Regular Meeting. He stated that he would be running for re-election and asked Board Members to state if they were interested in either the President or Vice President positions.
USD489 BOE eliminates $50 Activity Fee, increases lunch price a nickel
Following the District Administration’s recommendation on June 17,2024, USD489 Board of Education (BOE) unanimously approved eliminating the $50 Activity Fee for Middle and High School students. At the same time, the BOE raised school lunch prices for the upcoming year by a nickel.
