Thousands of ducks hit Hays Aquatic in BBBS annual fundraiser

Support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ellis County by joining the Hays community at the 2024 Duck Derby. The annual event kicks off at 5:30, the first heat of rubber ducks hitting the lazy river en route to the top 500. The second heat of ducks will follow all coming to a close with the final heat racing to the finish line. As the top ten ducks reach the end of the lazy river, 10 lucky community members will receive prizes sponsored by local businesses.

QPR

You are probably asking yourself, “What is QPR?” QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer. Three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. QPR is a suicide-prevention training designed to educate people from all walks of life on how to recognize the warning signs of suicide. QPR training helps people get comfortable asking the question "Are you thinking about suicide?" and then helping others get appropriate help.
