Heart of a Tiger: Celebrating success, part 3

Fort Hays State University is a regional public university with a global reach. In the academic year 2023, our enrollment served 16,922 students, including 11,715 students from the United States, with 8,000 of these U.S. students hailing from Kansas. This means that more than 68 percent of our U.S.-based students are Kansans. The 8,000 Kansans served included more than 5,000 students from western Kansas and more than 2,000 from Ellis County.

City Progress Report

At the Aug. 22, 2024 City Commission Regular Meeting Deputy City Manager Collin Bielser announced during the monthly Progress Report that Community Service Officers safely removed a badger from the downtown area during the Farmer’s Market on Aug. 4, 2024.

AmeriCorps Seniors Programs Host In-Service on Advanced Care Planning, Honor Long-Serving Volunteers

On August 7, 2024, the Fort Hays State University Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs held their monthly in-service meeting at the Sternberg Museum in Hays. The event featured guest speaker Jaylea Black, an Oncology Social Worker, who provided valuable information on legal documents essential for advanced care planning.
