Fort Hays State senior defensive back Benyon Williams was named MIAA Co-Defensive Athlete of the Week on Tuesday (Sept. 3) for his efforts in the season-opening 21-7 win over Angelo State. Williams shared the honor this week with Thomas Cook of Pittsburg State. Both FHSU and PSU picked up wins over nationally ranked teams last week.

County Commissioners approved on Sept. 3, 2024 the purchase of a new 2024 Caterpillar 140-15J grader from Foley Equipment using Sourcewell’s government pricing. $52,055.74 will be used from Fund 16 for a first of seven yearly payments. A 2008 Caterpillar 140M grader, currently in the Public Works’ auxiliary fleet will be traded in.
