Fort Hays State had three players named to the 2024 Tiger Classic All-Tournament Team. Gracie Rains of FHSU was named MVP of the weekend event, while Grace Schmedding and Caiya Stucky of FHSU also were named to the seven-individual team voted on by coaches. Rayishon Jackman and Brailee Bogle of Emporia State, along with Erika Asencio Soriano and Mariela Jimenez of Northwestern Oklahoma State rounded out the team.

The Fort Hays State University football team dropped out of both national polls after suffering its first loss of the season on Saturday. The Tigers, ranked No. 21 in one poll and 25th in another, hit the road for the first time and lost to previous winless Northwest Missouri State, 32-20. The Bearcats had lost their first two games of a season for the first time since 1995.
The Fort Hays State University women's soccer team secured its first win of the season on Sunday (Sept. 15) against Southwest Minnesota State, capping their weekend in South Dakota. Britney Arneson tallied her first two-goal match as a Tiger, while Allison Worley had the goal to break a tie in the second half. Gracen Chaney recorded two assists in the match off of corner kicks.
Tiger fans will be able to enjoy a fireworks show following the Fort Hays State vs. Northeastern State football game Saturday night (Sept. 21) at Lewis Field Stadium in Hays. The fireworks show will take place about 10 minutes following the completion of the football game.
On Sept. 16, 2024, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) issued a Do Not Drink Advisory for the Country View Mobile Home Park public water supply system, located at 2300 East 7th St. This does not include the City of Hays. According to KDHE, 40-50 connections to the public water system are affected by this Do Not Drink Advisory.
During the Sept. 10, 2024, Ellis County Commission meeting, Commissioners unanimously approved Resolution 2024-14 authorizing County Counselor Bill Jeter to initiate proceedings in the District Court of Ellis County for the tax foreclosure and sale of 19 real estate properties for delinquent taxes.

After taking fourth in their home tournament, the Hays High volleyball team had some work to do. After suffering a loss to Smoky Valley, the Indians threatened to drop into a losing record. That was enough to propel them to a four game winning streak, 7-3 record.
