ECHS recruiting for open Trustee Board seat, aims to debut Hays Museum renovations at Annual meeting

Ellis County Historical Society (ECHS) Executive Director Amanda Rupp announced that the ECHS is recruiting individuals for an open Trustee Board seat and that, although the hope had been to the renovation project of the Hays Museum complete by Christmas 2024, the entire building is now expected to be ready by the ECHS Annual Meeting at 7 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2025. “Most of the pictures that we see are after 1950 with the stage, or altar, cut off and we noticed when pulled up the carpet, it’s actually round.

USD489 BOE approves one Bond Project Change Order, tables the other

On Dec. 9, 2024, following presentation from Nabholz Construction representatives Brett Stevens and Dylan Weddle and discussion, the USD489 Board of Education (BOE) approved (5-2) one Bond Project Change Order (PCCO3 for $228,306) and unanimously tabled the second (PCC02 for $208,539) until a Special BOE meeting can be held with DLR Group, the Bond Project Architectural firm.
