Both the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and the Ellis County Public Works Department issued announcements that motorists may possibly experience “minor delays, not exceeding 15 minutes this week, as on Monday July 21st, KDOT begins a bridge repair project in Ellis County along I-70. Crews will be making repairs to the undersides of the bridges carrying both eastbound and westbound I-70 over Old Highway 40 near Walker in Ellis County.

Wednesday morning (July 16th from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.) and all-day Thursday (July 16th from 7:30 a.m.

Hays Public Works Department announced that beginning “as early as July 14,” the City’s 2025 Asphalt Sealcoat Project will begin. Residents in impacted zones will be notified directly by the sealcoating contractor (Circle C Paving and Construction).

The leaders of the state’s new Water Program Task Force say they are committed to finding elusive solutions to the state’s long-simmering water crisis.
