According to Water Conservation Specialist Holly Dickman, the welcome arrival of autumn’s cooler temperatures is an excellent time for WaterSmart landscaping, in large part because warm, not hot, soil temperatures are a less stressful environment which encourages good root growth. “So even if the trees are losing their leaves, the roots are actively growing beneath the soil surface,” said Water Conservation Specialist Dickman at the Sept.
