COLBY -- For the second time in five years, Max Heim has been selected to serve as interim president at Colby Community College.

Heim was hired by the CCC Board of Trustees at a special Dec. 1 meeting to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former president Stephen Vacik. Heim will start Jan. 6.

Heim, a consultant for the Kansas Association of School Boards, was interim president of CCC from Oct. 6, 2010, through April 15, 2011. He served as superintendent in six school districts, was a dean and professor at Mississippi State University and a professor at the University of Kansas and Emporia State University.

Heim and his wife, Mary, live on a farm southeast of Russell.
