William “Willie” A. Heier, 83, Grinnell, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter.

He was born June 25, 1932, in Park to Michael and Marianna (Kuntz) Heier. He was raised in Park and Grinnell. He graduated from Grinnell High School in 1951.

He married Wilma Jean Hemmert on June 16, 1959, in Oakley. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1954 to 1956 and honorably discharged. He was a farmer and cattleman.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell, and American Legion Post No. 0301, Grainfield.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years; four daughters, Debbie Lubbers and husband, Joe, McCook, Neb., Dorena Goyen and husband, Kevin, Kingman, Donna Williams and husband Johnnie, Page City, and Darlene Selley and husband, Justen, Holton; two sisters, Daisy Fellhoelter and Delores Katt; 11 grandchildren, Beth, Patrick, Sarah, Skyler, Jerri, Jessi, Daniel, Porscha, Martin, Billy and Grace; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Danny; three sisters, Julia, Agnes and Lorena; and two brothers, Pius and Linus.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell; burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Parish Center, Grinnell. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the parish center.
