Michael Elvin Shubert, 58, Colby, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Citizens Medical Center, Colby.
He was born Feb. 1, 1956, in WaKeeney to Elvin and Helen (Chance) Shubert. He grew up in Ogallah. He was a 1974 graduate of Trego Community High School and attended Dodge City Community College.
He married Cindy Gould Boutte on Aug. 31, 1996, in Rexford. They owned and operated a retail firearms store, C-M Gun & Pawn, in Colby.
He was a member of the College Drive Assembly of God Church, Colby, and National Rifle Association.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Colby; a son, Shawn Shubert and wife, Mindy, Craig, Colo.; a daughter, Sara Starr and husband, Jason, Coffee Springs, Ala.; his mother, Hays; three stepchildren, Marty, Brandon and Brandy Boutte, all of Colby; two brothers, David and Dale Shubert, both of Wichita; a sister, Cynthia Bruns and husband, Bradley, Wichita; and 16 grandchildren, Alyssa, Haley, Andrew, Kenzie, Aubrey, Hattie, Grace, Cooper, Katie, Saddie, Savahna, Issac, Jacob, Joseph, Baylee and Jaxson; nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Services were Saturday at College Drive Assembly of God Church, Colby; burial in Ogallah Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested in his name.
Pauls Funeral Home, Oberlin and Selden, was in charge of arrangements.
