Norene (Farmer) Smith, 87, Ellis, died Monday, Sept. 28, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society, Ellis.
She was born May 12, 1928, in Gainesville, Mo., to Arnold H. and Lucy (Shelton) Farmer. She attended Gainesville High School.
She married Doyne P. Smith on July 23, 1946, in Mountain Home, Ark. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 2001. She was a homemaker and had lived in the Ellis since 1959. She co-founded with her husband and helped run Triangle Well Service.
Survivors include a son, Rick Smith and wife, Sheryl, Buhler; a sister, Geraldine Smith, Rogersville, Ark.; three grandchildren, Tara Goans and husband, Lonnie, Buhler, Mindy Fry and husband, Andy, Desoto, and Brett Smith and wife, Julie, Paola; five great-grandchildren, Colton, Alyson and Ty Goans, Mason Fry, and Bella Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant great-granddaughter, Tayllor Paige Goans; and a brother, Arnold D. Farmer.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th, Ellis, KS 67637; burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Ellis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday, both at the funeral chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Good Samaritan Society, Ellis in care of the funeral chapel.
