Logan falls to Attica in 1ADII semifinals

DODGE CITY — The Logan High School boys’ basketball team fell short of second-seeded Attica on Friday in the semifinals of the Class 1A Division II tournament at United Wireless Arena.

Attica (23-2) turned a 24-16 halftime advantage into a double-digit win, knocking off the third seeded Trojans (21-4), 54-41.

The loss came despite a pair of double-digit performances for Logan. Regan Kats scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds, nearly collecting his second double-double if the tournament. Kelson Kats added 13 points for the Trojans, who were set to to play previously unbeaten Beloit/St. John’s-Tipton in Saturday’s 2 p.m. third-place game.

St. John’s-Tipton (24-1) suffered its first loss, 41-38, to Hartford in Friday’s other semifinal.

Attica was led by 20 points and 10 rebounds for Jacob Norris.
