EMPORIA — The Fort Hays State University women's track and field team finished eighth at the State Farm ESU Relays, including a one-two finish in the javelin, on Saturday in Emporia. The men's team finished 12th in the team standings.
Estefania Lopez and Madison Wolf produced half the team's points in the meet, while distance runners produced the majority of the rest.
Estefania Lopez upped her mark nationally in the javelin with a throw of 166 feet, 7 inches to take home first place in the event. Madison Wolf finished second with a throw of 160-10. Both throws were automatic qualifying marks for the second straight week. Lopez and Wolf now rank third and fifth nationally in the event.
Sophie Dalmasso and Chelsea Jackson finished third and fourth in the 3,000 meters, respectively. Dalmasso covered the distance in 10:51.44, while Jackson ran a time of 10:59.13. Shea Bonine finished fifth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:46.34, while Micki Krzesinski finished eighth in 4:54.41.
Lexi Riedel finished eighth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.18 seconds. Kelly Wycoff also finished eighth in the 400 in 59.35 seconds.
Isaac Williams was the highest placer for the Tiger men, finishing second in the 3000 meters.
Williams ran a time of 8:56.56 in the 3,000 meters. Feysel Rahmeto was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:51.03, and Brock Elgin was seventh in 9:52.90. Israel Barco earned eighth in the 1,500 meters, finishing in 4:03.51.
Dillando Allotey finished eighth in the 200 meters in 22.05 seconds.
Kolt Newell earned a third-place finish in the high jump, matching his best height of the season at 6-8.75, which ranks seventh nationally. In the triple jump, Jordan Carroll finished fifth with a distance of 47-0.25.
The Tigers return to action at the Friends Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Wichita.
