Harlen L. McGinness, 88, Wichita, formerly of WaKeeney, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016.

He was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Lincoln County to Harley and Minnie (Yohe) McGinness. He was a 1945 graduate of Beverly Rural High School and attended Merritt Business College, Oakland, Calif.

He married Audrey Ann Knutson on June 10, 1951. In 1954, he became office manager at Western Cooperative Electric in WaKeeney and in 1969 became general manager, retiring in 1990. He was U.S. Army Corps of Engineers veteran, serving at Fort Belvoir, Va., at the close of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Ann; three daughters, Terri, Kansas City, Kathi, Wichita, and Conni, Salina; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at WaKeeney Presbyterian Church; burial in WaKeeney City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney.
