Louis Edgett, 91, Norton, formerly of Hill City, died Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Norton County Hospital.

He was born April 15, 1925, in rural Logan to Grover Cleveland and Rosa Elizabeth (Glennmeier) Edgett.

He married Ila Mae Manners on Aug. 14, 1947, in Smith Center. She preceded him in death Sept. 20, 2015. He was a farmer/accountant and federal meat inspector. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a son, Tom Edgett, Lenora; two daughters, Rhonda Copper, Topeka, and Beverely Park, Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, Henry Edgett, Norton, and Norman Edgett, Plainville; a sister, Cecilia Methenay, McPherson; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City; burial in Edmond Cemetery, rural Edmond.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday with family present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice, DAV, Emporia VFW or Norton County Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
