Harry R. Dreiling, 79, Hays, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, in Hays. He was born March 25, 1937, in Ellis to Richard and Barbara (Pfeifer) Dreiling.
He married Frances Werth on Sept. 26, 1959. She preceded him in death Jan. 5, 1987. He later married Deborah Trzicky on Aug. 31, 1990, in Hays. He was the owner operator of Harry’s Drywall starting in 1976. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1956 to 1959 and stationed in Germany.
He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church where he served as an usher for 50 years and a member of F.O.E.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, casino trips and being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Hays; a son, Jerome Dreiling, Hays; a daughter, Virginia Mae Basgall and husband, Steve, Hays; a brother, Clarence Dreiling and wife, Diann, Hays; a stepdaughter, Melissa Largent, Tennessee; four grandchildren, MaRyan, Kendrick, Braden and Gage; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Airalia; a stepgrandchild, Megan; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Daniel and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by two infant children, JoAnn and Harry Jr.; a daughter, JoAnn Phillips; three brothers, Arthur, LeRoy and Ralph; and a sister, Betty Madison.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays with military honors courtesy of the Hays Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Hays Legion Riders.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, both at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
A combined vigil /rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel.
Memorials are suggested to IHMC basement fund, Humane Society of the High Plains or Hospice at HaysMed, in care of the funeral chapel.
