Dudley Township Library in Satanta is sponsoring an auction at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Satanta Community Building, 108 W. Pawnee, to benefit library facilities.
The day will feature live and silent auctions, games, music and a homemade farm supper. No admission will be charged, but a free will offering is suggested for the meal.
Some of the auction items include a pair of Kansas State University football tickets, a wood pellet grill, authentic Native American pottery, various local artwork, a beef bundle, a pedal go-kart and numerous gift certificates.
The library began as a single room in the Satanta Grade School in 1931. It moved to a building downtown in 1942. Funds raised Saturday will go toward improving the building, which lacks sufficient space, has plumbing and roofing needs and requires asbestos removal.
