The Fort Hays State University presidential search committee met Wednesday to select semifinalists to replace FHSU President Edward Hammond, who is retiring June 30.

The Board of Regents hasn't released the number of applicants or semifinalists.

"We are pleased with the number of outstanding candidates that have applied for the presidency at Fort Hays State University and look forward to continuing the process that will lead to the selection of a new president," said Denis Miller, search committee chair.

Finalists' interviews are scheduled for mid-March, followed by on-campus visits March 24 to April 10.

The Regents are expected to make their selection from the list of finalists in late April.
