Virgil Edgene Wamser, 69, Neosho Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at his home.
He was born March 1, 1945, in Emporia to Albert Virgil and Wilma Hayes Wamser. He was a 1964 graduate of Emporia High School.
He married Donna Crawford on May 5, 1967, in Neosho Rapids. He worked at the Topeka Capital-Journal as a bulk-paper delivery driver for more than 20 years. He retired in 2010.
He was the founding member of the Neosho Rapids Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Edgene Wamser and wife, Heidi, Hays; two daughters, Becky Broadhurst and husband, Jon, Southlake, Texas, and Carla Garrison and husband, Shawn, Glenpool, Okla.; a sister, Lyndia Kay Deshazer, Bushong; seven grandchildren, Easten Wamser, McKinley Wamser, Reaghan Wamser, Jayden Broadhurst, Jillian Broadhurst, Kash Garrison and Kinsley Garrison; and many extended family and friends.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hartford United Methodist Church; burial in Hartford Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, Lebo.
