WICHITA -- The Fort Hays State University wrestling team took fifth out of 11 teams on Sunday at the 2014 Jet Invitational, hosted by Newman University in Wichita. The Tigers finished with 55.0 points, Ouachita Baptist University's 111.5 taking the top spot.
FHSU had one individual champion in senior Trey Page, who took the 285-pound weight class with a 4-0 mark. Page won his first two matches by fall before earning a major decision (11-3) over Labette Community College's Nolan Smith in the semifinals and a major decision (8-0) over Ouachita Baptist's Blake Andrews in the finals.
Page, ranked No. 8 in the nation, is 22-1 and has won 15 consecutive matches. Sunday's title was his fourth individual crown of the season.
Other notable finishers for FHSU were sophomore Jon Inman (third at 184 pounds), senior Garrett Jones (fourth at 133 pounds) and junior Bradley Little (fourth at 157 pounds).
FHSU has one more meet this side of the holiday break, coming 6 p.m. Thursday in a home dual against the Colorado School of Mines at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
