Jean Basgall, 65, Olathe, formerly of Hays, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at her home.
She was born June 25, 1949, in Hays to Connie and Marcella (Doerfler) Pfannenstiel. She was a 1967 graduate of Marian High School.
She married Jim Basgall on Aug. 30, 1969. She spent many years working in the Catholic Schools, including St. Joseph's Parochial and Kennedy Middle School in Hays, Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita, and Nativity Parish School in Leawood.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Overland Park.
She enjoyed golfing, relaxing at the lake, and spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons.
Survivors include her husband, Jim, Olathe; two daughters, Jodi Locke and husband, Lance, Leawood, and Jill Sulser and husband, Bryan, Denver; a son, Jason, Overland Park; two brothers, Dennis Pfannenstiel and wife, Elaine, Hays, and Duane "Whitey" Pfannenstiel and wife, Becky, Topeka; a sister, Gloria Koirth and husband, Larry, Munjor; a sister-in-law, Firma Pfannenstiel, WaKeeney; and two grandsons, Landon, Denver and Brenner, Leawood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a twin brother, Norman; and two brothers, Jim and Stanley.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Munjor.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, both at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel at 2509 Vine, Hays KS. 67601.
A rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., both at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Catholic Hospice of Kansas City or Thomas More Prep- Marian High School.
