Geraldine (Chittenden) Huff, 94, Phoenix, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, in Murrieta, Calif.

She was born March 3, 1920, in Hays to Stanley and Myrtle (Truan) Chittenden. She grew up on the Chittenden farm outside of Hays. She attended school in Hays and after graduating from high school, attended Fort Hays Kansas State University, Hays.

She married Foster B. Huff on March 6, 1945, in Hays. He preceded her in death after 60 years of marriage. They opened a photo studio in Hays. The studio thrived until November 1951 when he was recalled into Air Force service. For the next 16 years, she traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe as a military wife. They settled down in Phoenix in 1968, while she continued to work at the district office of J.C. Penney's and being an active member of the sailing and RV clubs.

Survivors include a son, Ronald C. Huff, El Cerrito, Calif.; a daughter, Janelle Gebhardt and husband, David, Temecula, Calif.; a brother, Stanley M. Chittenden, Houston; a sister-in-law, Norma Chittenden, Hays; two grandsons, Stuart and John Gebhardt, both of California; an aunt, Florence Truan Stuive, Boulder, Colo.; and a nephew, John R. Chittenden and wife and children, Hays.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ida Eleanor Chittenden; a brother, John R. "Jack" Chittenden; and a sister-in-law, Louise Chittenden.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2703 Fort, Hays; burial in Mount Allen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the church in care of the funeral home.
