Daniel Raymond Schreiner, 60, WaKeeney, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Hays Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 6, 1955, in WaKeeney to Michael and Eula (Jamison) Schreiner. He was a 1973 graduate of Trego Community High School.
He married Jaclyn Ann Pauls on Feb. 28, 1987, in Selden. After graduating, he joined his father and brothers at Schreiner Transport as a part-owner. He then owned and operated Dan’s Service Center for a time. After that, he worked for Schreiner Fuels in Ogallah. For the past seven years of his life, he operated a yellow Kenworth hauling refined fuels for Frontier Ag in WaKeeney.
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in WaKeeney. He was active in his church and served as a CYO sponsor and church usher.
His hobbies included collecting road maps, toy tractors and working in his yard.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elizabeth Schreiner and Andy Gilliam, Omaha, Neb., and Christine Miller and husband, Chad, WaKeeney; two sons, James Schreiner and fiancée Carolyn Malott, Manhattan, and Jared Schreiner, WaKeeney; a brother, John Schreiner and wife, Betty, WaKeeney; four sisters, Irene Jackson and husband, Jerry, Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Viola Zimmerman and husband, Bob, Stafford, Trish Albin and husband, Randy, Quinter, and Carol Luetters and husband, Dave, Garden City; a sister-in-law, Barb Schreiner, Fort Collins, Colo.; four grandsons, Lucas, twins Levi and Mason, and Gavin Miller; in addition to other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ron Schreiner; a sister, Theresa Schwartz; and his father and mother-in-law, Richard and Betty Pauls.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, WaKeeney; burial in Christ the King Cemetery, WaKeeney.
A vigil will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.
