Julia Ann Honas, 83, Ellis, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, at Ellis Good Samaritan Center.
She was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Hays to Jacob and Elizabeth Younker.
She married Ralph Honas on Aug. 30, 1949, in Ellis. He preceded her in death Sept. 2, 2013.
She was a homemaker with the full-time job of raising her many children. In the last years of her life, she quilted more than 100 quilts.
Survivors include four sons, Jim Honas and wife, Lauree, Ellis, Robert Honas and wife, Debbie, Newton, and Kenneth Honas and wife, Christine, and Christopher Honas and wife, Lori, all of Wichita; six daughter, Doris Collins and husband, Ed, Susan Eaton, Bernice Karlin and husband, Mark, and Rosemarie Dunkin and husband, Richard, all of Ellis, Alice Long and husband, Rand, Falls Church, Va., and Janice Wilson and husband, Tony, Wichita; 32 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Ralph Jr., Patricia and Richard; a brother, Don Younker; and a son-in-law, Donnie Eaton.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Ellis; burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
A rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by a vigil at 7 p.m., all at the church.
