Alvy P. Bobbitt, Sr., 87, Stockton, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, in Hays.

He was born July 31, 1928, in San Augustine County, Texas, to Alfonzo and Mary Esper (Robbins) Bobbitt.

He married Bettie M. (DeBey) Bobbitt on Sept. 9, 1947, in Salina. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Stockton; two sons, Alvy P. Bobbitt, Jr., Kansas City, Kans., Randal L. Bobbitt, Broken Arrow, Okla.; four daughters, Sherylene S. Gager, Kirwin, Debra C. Sidey, Bunker Hill, Esper L. “Lorrie” Baxter, Cedar, and Christine L. Polzin, Hoisington; a sister, Mary Joy Bobbitt, Nacogdoches, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church, Stockton; burial in Stockton Cemetery with military rites by Fort Riley Honor Guard and VFW Post 8873, Stockton.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday with family receiving friends from 5 to 6 p.m. at Plumer-Overlease Funeral Home, Stockton.
