COLBY --  The Thomas More Prep-Marian boys' basketball team rolled past Colby on Thursday in the semifinal round of the Class 4A Division II sub-state tournament at the Colby Community Building.

TMP (15-6) jumped out to an 11-0 run, and 21-6 lead after the first quarter, and never looked back in a 65-23 blowout to move to Saturday's sub-state final. The Monarchs will face Concordia (11-8) with the winner advancing to next week's 4A Division II state tournament at Hartman Arena in Park City.

Jared Vitztum had 18 points to lead all scorers as the Monarchs led 45-11 by the halfway point. Kameron Schmidt added 10 and Ryan Ruder nine as 11 different Monarchs entered the scoring column. The fourth quarter was played under the continuous clock.

Concordia, the No. 2 seed in the bracket, beat Goodland, 69-40. Cooper Holmes had 30 points to lead the way, with Ian Nordell adding 19.

Saturday's sub-state final is slated for 7:30 p.m. in the Community Building at Colby.
