The Fort Hays State University Tigers (3-0) received 25 votes in the Week 3 editions of the American Football Coaches Association Division II poll released Monday.
The Tigers are one of five MIAA teams featured in the Week 3 poll. The Tigers — who are fresh off a 30-7 win at Lindenwood on Saturday — received two votes and seven votes in Weeks 1 and 2 of the poll, respectively.
The Northwest Missouri State Bearcats remained at No. 3 and received one first-place vote after a come-from-behind 34-30 victory at Central Missouri on Saturday to remain 3-0.
No. 15 Pittsburg State fell 11 spots after a 28-21 home loss to Washburn, who picked up six votes following the win. Both teams are 2-1. Pitt State was one of five ranked teams to losing — No. 24 Ouachita Baptist, previously ninth, and No. 25 Minnesota-Duluth, previously seventh, fell in the rankings. Grand Valley State (Mich.) (14) and Ohio Dominican (17) are no longer ranked.
Emporia State (3-0) received 48 votes after a 34-24 win at 0-3 Central Oklahoma on Saturday.
The Tigers have never been ranked in the AFCA poll since its inception in 2000.
