Leona E. Myers, 91, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, in Lynchburg, Va.

She was born Sept. 23, 1922, in Munjor to Jacob E. and Elizabeth Leiker. She graduated from Girls Catholic High School.

She was married to Salvatore Tambascio for 48 years. She was employed as an administrative assistant in the medical, credit and insurance fields for 30 years in Hays. She was an accomplished writer and gifted artist, with her artwork exhibited at Hays Arts Center in 1995. She relocated to Hot Springs, Ark., in 1996 and married Paul D. Myers.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women and Morning Circle.

Survivors include her husband, Paul; two step-daughters, Colleen Paul and Carole Pitts; a sister, Anita Lange; two granddaughters, Rory Vanlandingham and Aimee Rodgers; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; two brothers; a daughter, Linda Marie Rodgers; and a great-grandson, Jake.

Services will be at a later date; burial in Hays.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
