The Ness County Sheriff’s Department has requested an arrest warrant for William Wahl from the county attorney’s office after a high-speed chase early morning Friday.
Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said Wahl was pulled over for a traffic infraction at 2:45 a.m. Friday, when he then initiated a high-speed chase that zig-zagged through the southern portion of Ness County on dirt roads. Whipple said speeds got up to 90 mph during the chase. When officers came upon the vehicle, it was abandoned and Wahl had fled on foot.
According to the Ness County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, multiple deputies conducted a search lasting more than three hours Friday morning as they were unable to locate Wahl, 28. It is unknown if he was armed with a weapon.
The sheriff’s office is urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Wahl to contact them at (785) 798-3611.
