COLBY --  The Hays High School volleyball team swept each of its opponents on Monday at a quad in Colby.

The Indians defeated Phillipsburg for the second time this season, winning 25-14, 25-17. Kylie Brown and Ashlyn Parrish had five kills each, Albany Schaffer 10 digs, and Madison Prough 11 assists with five aces.

HHS followed with a win over Liberal, 25-8, 25-23. Tessa Stickel led with 11 kills, Prough 13 assists and Schaffer 21 digs.

The final match was a 25-16, 25-17 win over Colby. Brown led with nine kills, Prough with nine assists and Schaffer with 13 digs.

The sweep improves Hays High to 23-6 on the season, with the Oct. 18 WAC tournament in Garden City and Oct. 21 triangular in Maize the only remaining regular-season matches before sub-state on Oct. 25.
