Michael Anthony Cure, 37, Hays, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at Kansas University Medical Center.
He was born June 9, 1978, in Jetmore, to Anthony and Bonnie (Lee) Cure. He was a 1997 graduate of Hanston High School and later attended Dodge City Community College and Fort Hays State University.
He married Jaclyn Marie Leiker on May 2, 2009, in Hays. He was a Golf Course Superintendent at Fort Hays Municipal Golf Course, on staff at Smoky Hill Country Club and was a sales professional at Lewis Automotive.
He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays.
He enjoyed outdoor activities including golf and hunting, but especially deer hunting. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching KU, Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs and NASCAR, and above all he enjoyed his time with his wife and children.
Survivors include his wife, Hays; a son, Drew Cure, Hays; a daughter, Chloe Cure, Hays; his parents, Hanston; two brothers, Scott Cure and wife, Mindy, Hanston, and Jamie Cure and wife, Staci, Ingalls; his in-laws, Ernie and Sandy Leiker, Hays; two brothers-in law, James Leiker and wife, Taryn, Hays, and Curtis Leiker and wife, Jenny, Bel Aire; a sister-in-law, Cindy Matter and husband, Bobby, Hays; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Johanna Cure and Ray and Stella Lee.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays; burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Hanston.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, both at Brock’s-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine, Hays, KS 67601.
A combined rosary and vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.
Memorials are suggested to Drew and Chloe Cure education fund in care of the funeral chapel.
