William E. "Bill" Hooper, 86, Bogue, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at Graham County Hospital, Hill City.
He was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Topeka to Lewis L. and Anna W. (Stone) Hooper.
He married Virginia Lee Shirling on March 5, 1949, in Phillipsburg. He was an oilfield worker. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Bogue; a son, Bryce Hooper, Yelm, Wash.; two daughters, Billie Desbien, Lamar, Mo., and Sue Rome, Kearney, Neb.; five brothers, Lewis "Bud" Hooper, Logan, Bob Hooper, Bogue, Jonathan "JD" Hooper, Goodland, Allen Hooper, Oberlin, and Floyd Hooper, Manhattan; a sister, Betty Jacobson, Pauls Valley, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandhchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Gail Chase.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bogue Methodist Church.
There will be no visitation.
