Hays city commissioners will vote on a $30,000 bid to rehabilitate manholes at Thursday's meeting.

The work will involve 19 manholes and 12 rings and lids. Acidic conditions have led to their deterioration, and a 10-foot deep manhole could cost $12,000 to replace if it is not maintained.

In other business:

* Commissioners will consider approving a project not to exceed $50,000 for storm sewer structure lining. Approximately 100 inlets and manholes would be treated.

* City staff will recommend removing a vehicle abandoned at 418 W. 11th. Donald Fenwick owns the property.

* A new city fund will be proposed. The city commission capital reserve account is better than the existing city commission financial policy projects account because it is not based on projections and does not misrepresent the budget.
